About the Facility
Hokkaido University Hospital Family House is a facility where families of inpatients can stay while attending the patients.Besides a total of eight rooms (with bath and toilet), the facility includes the janitor’s room, a laundry room, a wheelchair-accessible restroom, a dayroom and a lounge and play area.
Parking is also available for eight cars (one per room).

No smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all rooms and the building in general.To assure the safety and comfort of fellow lodgers, and to prevent accidental fires and secondhand smoking, thank you for your understanding to observe the no smoking policy.
Bedding
Bedding, including bottom mattresses, pillows, sheets and blankets, can be rented. The janitor will explain the details when you check in.Meals
No meals are provided in the facility. Each room is equipped with a kitchen and tableware.If you prepare your meals, please use the equipment with care.

Usage fees
Summer (May – October): 1,700 yen per room per nightWinter (November – April): 1,800 yen per room per night
*Fees were revised on May 1, 2005.
*Please note that paid usage fees cannot be returned.
*The usage fees include the room rate and utility costs.
*A separate bedding fee is charged. This fee was 150 yen per night as of January 1, 2005.
*Only cash is accepted.
Using the facility
Applying for use
Those who want to use the facility are kindly requested to check the room availability at the following relevant division when the patient’s hospitalization period has been decided.If you find an available room for your desired period, please fill out the Hokkaido University Family House Application Form at the relevant division and submit it.
Applications are accepted from one month before the month of use.
A room can be reserved for up to 13 nights at a time.
If you want to stay longer than 13 nights, please ask at the relevant division.

Please pay the usage fee in advance, in principle. Please pay the fee when the permit is issued.

Check-in procedure
After completing the usage procedure at the Inpatient Center, please come to the Family House in person at the check-in time on the day.If you are not sure about the way to the Family House, please ask at the Inpatient Center.
After your arrival, the janitor will explain the use of the facility.
