Rights and responsibilities of patients

Hokkaido University Hospital respects the rights of all patients.

Patients can

• receive medical care with respect and protection of their human rights.
• receive safe and high-quality medical care without any discrimination.
• receive adequate explanations about their disease and treatment.  
• choose from the proposed therapeutic approaches by their own will
• be assured that their personal information and privacy is protected.

Patients' have these rights. However, patients must please observe the hospital’s rules and act accordingly.
