Clinical Department & Center

Internal Medicine I

Greetings

Many medical specialists in pulmonology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and aspiring young doctors are actively involved in the Department of Internal Medicine I, doing their best day and night to provide excellent medical care and perform research of related diseases. Many clinical trials are on-going and new treatment are developed in our department.
Our clinical principles are “examination of the entire body as a human being” and the “responsible care by the attending doctor.”
Under the attending doctor system whereby one doctor is responsible for a patient, we stick to our principle of “examination of the entire body” rather than parts of the body, regardless of our specialty in respiratory, cardiovascular or metabolic diseases, and provide medical care with pride that is not surpassed at any other hospital in Japan.

Outline

Medical care system

The inpatient ward of Internal Medicine I is ward 10-2 on the 10th floor. If ward 10-2 is full, patients may be hospitalized in other wards. If necessary, the doctor consults with other specialists inside and outside the department to ensure the highest quality of medical care.
