Greetings
Many medical specialists in pulmonology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and aspiring young doctors are actively involved in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, doing their best day and night to provide excellent medical care and perform research of related diseases. Many clinical trials are on-going and new treatment are developed in our department.Our clinical principles are “examination of the entire body as a human being” and the “responsible care by the attending doctor.”
Under the attending doctor system whereby one doctor is responsible for a patient, we stick to our principle of “examination of the entire body” rather than parts of the body, regardless of our specialty in respiratory, cardiovascular or metabolic diseases, and provide medical care with pride that is not surpassed at any other hospital in Japan.

Medical care system
The inpatient ward of Respiratory Medicine is ward 10-2 on the 10th floor. If ward 10-2 is full, patients may be hospitalized in other wards. Each patient is taken care of by the concerned care team and the attending doctor who is a member of this team. If necessary, the doctor consults with other specialists inside and outside the department to ensure the highest quality of medical care.Outpatient department: New patients with respiratory disease are seen every day from Monday to Friday, and those with pulmonary hypertension are seen on Friday.
Treatment policy
At Respiratory Medicine, ward treatment is administered mainly by the attending doctor. However, state-of-the-art medical treatment is appropriately provided through cooperation between many doctors specialized in diverse fields and having diverse skills.Areas of medical care

Consultation hours
Reception hours for outpatients are from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. However, doctors on day or night duty are on call in the ward on holidays and national holidays, and handle outpatient emergencies on a round-the-clock basis.Major tests and equipment
